About Gerben Zijlstra

Gerben is a regular speaker on Process Intensification (PI) and continuous biomanufacturing. He received his Ph.D. from the WUR in the field of process integration in animal cell culture and he has worked for more than 25 years in the BioPharma Industry in the CDMO business and on PI in SU bioreactors at DSM Biologics. He invented XD® (cFB) technology, boosting yield up to 5-fold. As a Sr. Consultant at Xendo, he has worked on cutting edge SU-PI, and Gene Therapy projects. Aa Process Technology Manager at Sartorius he drives the further improvement of the Sartorius PI technology portfolio for the advancement the BioPharma industry.
