The Galapagos decentralized CAR-T manufacturing platform Galapagos’ decentralized, innovative CAR T-cell manufacturing platform near the point-of-care offers the potential for the administration of fresh, fit cells with a vein-to-vein time of seven days, greater physician control and a significantly improved patient experience. The platform consists of an end-to-end xCellit workflow management and monitoring software system, a decentralized, functionally closed, automated manufacturing platform for cell therapies (using Lonza’s Cocoon) and a proprietary quality control testing and release strategy.

Single use in ATMP development – an academic insight About the lecture In the academic world, first-in-human trials and phase I/II are performed with ATMPs (advanced therapy medicinal products). The production of these ATMPs are (almost) always performed using (double) sterile disposable devices/tools in order to produce in accordance with cGMP guidelines. Both fresh ATMPs and frozen ATMPs are produced and administered to the patients. How to find the best (affordable) products for these processes and for the translation from manual towards automatic are daily questions. And how do we know which devices/tools are on the market?
About the speaker Sofieke is a hospital pharmacist, head of the ATMP facility of Erasmus MC and also QP for ATMPs. She studied pharmacy, both in Groningen (bachelor) and in Utrecht (Master). After her study she did her PhD at Leiden University on the topic academic medicinal products towards clinical practice, with a focus on ATMPs. After completing her PhD, she did her residency of hospital pharmacy in Meander Medical Center and University Medical Center Utrecht. Since 2022 she has been working in Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam.
